Privacy Policy
Eki is built so the developer never sees your data. Eki has no accounts, analytics, advertising identifiers, or third-party SDKs that transmit data, and the developer operates no servers that receive your information. That is why the App Store lists Eki as Data Not Collected. Eki processes your information on your devices and, except for Apple Health data, syncs your habit data through your own private iCloud.
Data the developer collects
None. The developer does not receive your habits, completions, measurements, notes, identifiers, diagnostics, or Apple Health data. Eki does not share your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining.
Where your data lives
Your habits, completions, measurements you enter, notes, and habit configuration are stored on your device and sync across your own devices (iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac) through your private iCloud using Apple's CloudKit private database. The developer cannot inspect your private CloudKit records. Device preferences, running-timer state, and Apple Health values stay device-local. Apple Health values are stored in a protected cache that is excluded from backups and never enters CloudKit. Standard iCloud or computer backups may include other app data under Apple's terms and your settings.
Apple Health
If you enable it, Eki reads only the Health data types you approve, solely to fill in your habit measurements automatically. Depending on the measurements you connect, these types are: body mass, body-fat percentage, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, active energy burned, walking and running distance, dietary water, step count, sleep analysis, Apple Exercise Time, mindful sessions, time in daylight, Apple Stand Hour, flights climbed, cycling distance, dietary caffeine, and number of alcoholic beverages. Health data is read and cached on device, never written back to HealthKit, never stored in iCloud, and never transmitted to the developer. It is excluded from MCP unless you separately enable Share Apple Health data; your chosen agent's privacy terms then apply. You can revoke Health access at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Health.
On-device intelligence
Eki's daily note and personal insights are generated with Apple's on-device models. Your habit data is not sent to a cloud service to produce them.
Agent connection (MCP)
On the Mac, Eki Pro can run an optional MCP server for an AI agent you choose. It is off until you enable it in Settings, Connections. Read access, habit changes, notes and Apple Health sharing have separate switches, with the last three off by default. Plans are previewed before they are applied, and Health-linked habits cannot be changed through MCP. The sandboxed helper has no network, HealthKit or CloudKit entitlement and receives only the privacy-filtered projection Eki prepares for it. What your agent does with the answers is governed by that agent's own privacy terms.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not operate push servers.
Apple services
Eki uses Apple system services including iCloud and CloudKit for private habit-data sync, HealthKit for health data you choose to connect, StoreKit for purchases, and Apple's on-device models for supported intelligence features. Those services are provided under Apple's privacy terms. Eki does not send your data to independent analytics, advertising, or AI providers.
Retention and deletion
Your habit data remains on your devices and in your private iCloud until you delete individual records or use Settings, Wipe everything. Wipe everything removes Eki's local habit records, Apple Health cache, reminders, timer state, and insight text, and records deletion of synced Eki data in your private iCloud. CloudKit propagates those deletions when Eki is online, so another offline device may show an older copy until it reconnects. Deleting the app removes that device's local copy but does not by itself guarantee immediate deletion of records already stored in your private iCloud.
Your choices
- Export your data as JSON at any time from Settings.
- Delete Eki data at any time with Settings, Wipe everything.
- Revoke Apple Health access at any time in system Settings.
- Manage Eki's stored iCloud data from your Apple Account's iCloud storage settings.
